Mastercard is partnering with Polygon to launch a Web3 accelerator program for musicians.

This program aims to assist five emerging artists in establishing and maintaining their brands in the Web3 environment, as well as educate individuals in the music industry on the opportunities that Web3 technology can provide.

Mastercard, a global payments company, has announced the “Mastercard Artist Accelerator” program, a blockchain-based initiative aimed at helping emerging musicians build their careers using Web3 technology. The program, set to begin this spring, will provide five selected musicians from around the world with mentors to assist them in establishing their brand in the Web3 music industry. The artists will have access to exclusive events, music releases, and a curriculum that teaches them how to build and own their brand through the use of Web3 tools such as NFTs and virtual worlds. The program will end with a live-streamed artist showcase later in the year.

In addition to the accelerator program, Mastercard is introducing a non-fungible token (NFT) collection called the “Mastercard Music Pass” for those who are not selected for the program. This collection aims to provide holders with educational materials and access to unique resources, such as brand collaborations, to help aspiring musicians learn about the integration of Web3 technology in the music industry.
